Children respond amazingly to hypnosis, simply because they are such vivid visualizers. This is evident when you enter a child's world through play - it becomes apparent that everything we see as imaginative and creative is so real in their eyes. They become superheroes. They become the mom or dad that they enact!
A hypnotherapist is able to use this ability to help a child deal very effectively with his/her problems. An active imagination is an extremely useful tool, one that helps the therapist to access the subconscious parts of a child’s mind very easily.
A child is naturally, an avid learner and is eager to take on new ideas, if they are presented in an easy manner. During hypnotherapy, a child becomes very relaxed and focused, and is able to quickly assimilate the changes that will help them tackle their problems.
However, while dealing with a child’s behavior, it is also very important for the parent to be involved in the transformation process. This is because, in many ways, there are triggers in the child’s environment that cause these problems, and only the parent can help remove them. Also, a parent is often very anxious about the child’s behavior and this in turn causes anxiety and feelings of inadequacy in the child.
At Connect, we work with both the parent and the child in order to effectively resolve issues.
Children, like adults, go through stress. School, peer pressures, family tensions, teachers remarks, bullying, in addition to their own rapid physical, mental and emotional growth, make them react in different ways, if they cannot cope. They can get restless, irritable, sulky, violent and even get unexplained ailments.
Some of the issues we work with children include bed wetting, divorce related issues, nail biting, hyperactivity, thumb sucking, fears, lack of confidence and exam anxiety.
Provided the parent is willing to work with a child and enable the right environment, we find that hypnotherapy is a very effective tool for quick and easy change in children.
Each plant grows according to the nurture it is provided, based on its nature. For it to bloom to its fullest nature, optimal nurture is a key.
